Af...。本片為張徹導演，並與倪匡聯合編劇，演員除羅莽、江生、郭追、孫建、鹿峰一眾《五毒》演員之外，尚有曹達華客串。故事描述土匪出身的軍人韓佩昌(王力飾)發動叛變，殺死師長楊宗，竊居其位，楊家只得長子大英一人(羅莽飾)逃出生天。大英志切報仇，結果未得手已告命喪；其好友陳風(江生飾)、梁國仁(郭追飾)、傅全義(鹿峰飾)、辛成(孫建飾)決替其復仇……。该剧从邝南海小时候讲起，聪明机灵、敢作敢为的他将贪官南海知府捉弄得团团转，使30万两赈灾银子如数到了灾民手里。其后他接触了西方科学与民主文化，思想飞跃，先是鼓励姐姐素蓉放弃包办婚姻，又让婢女跟自己一起去上学，甚至冲破世俗观念，爱上一个比自己年纪大的女子陶桃……。
