幽静安宁的森林里，奇诺（前田爱 配音）和师父相守度日。她按照师父的指示打扫料理她们的林间小屋，期间学习使用各种枪械，提高射击的技术，或者联系操纵机车。时常有人来拜访师父，奇诺虽感好奇，却似乎更安于此时的生活状态。直到某天，她去河边打水的时候邂逅了一名男性旅者，对方的一番言语勾起了奇诺对外面世界的向往。她向师父表明了外出游历的意愿，师父并未加以阻拦，反而鼓励她勇敢地走出森林探险。只要切记，世事无常。奇诺不平凡和漫长的旅程开始了，她永远不知道等在前方的会是什么，但谁会因此停下探索的脚步？ 本片根据时雨泽惠一的原作改编。。本片荣获首届留守与儿童国际电影节最佳纪录片，并被香港中文大学永久收藏。 本片以湖南省一群备战中考的重点班孩子展开讲述。他们中大部分是留守儿童，读书成为摆脱自身命运的唯一出路。但处于青春期的他们，面对繁重的功课、备考的压力、资金的不足以及家庭的教育的缺失站在了人生的十字路口上......
