Nerd, Swagger, Bitch, Rocker and Loser go clubbing ...。城乡结合部刘家村的土地被高速发展的城市占用，德昌老汉一家人变成了“城市人”，突然农村变成城市，传统观念与现代意识，小农意识与商品时代的冲突，让他们的爱情、婚姻、择业面临着越来越多的矛盾，德昌老汉与誓要彻底成为城市人的二儿媳妇、思想解放的三儿子等与周围的人演绎了许多的悲欢离合……。影片根据同名小说改编，讲述加拿大著名纪录片导演里欧纳德·法夫罹患癌症，他在临死前接受了以前学生的采访，并决定借此机会忏悔过去犯下的诸种错误，以撕毁自己在他人面前的英雄形象。。
