生活在大都会底层的人们忍受着微薄的工资，为了糊口而辛勤出卖劳力，有些人甚至连个睡觉的地方都没有，史特维就是个鲜明例子。他在出狱后从北部的格拉斯哥到伦敦找工作，结果在建筑工地找到了一份临时工。里班米克是个霸道的家伙，工人们得乖乖听命。史特维深感在伦敦讨生活很不容易。一天他在上班途中捡到一个手提袋，因而认识想一圆歌星梦的苏珊，但在现实生活中她是个失业而又喝药的失败者。。Roberto, a drummer in a rock band, keeps receiving weird phone calls and being followed by a mysterious man. One night he manages to catch up with his persecutor and tries to get him to talk but in the ensuing struggle he accidentally stabs him. He runs away, but he understands his troubles have just begun when the following day he receives an envelope with photos of him killing the man. Someone is killing all his friends and trying to frame him for the murders...。
