在郊区一间密不透风的密室内，光线微弱得几乎成不了直线。一对男女昏迷在地上，而男子肚腹被插上小刀……女子首先苏醒过来，她发觉门被锁上，她从门缝中发现了门外地上有一条钥匙，但她未能把钥匙拉回来。男子终于醒过来了，他感到痛楚之余不忘惧怕。言语间竟然发现彼此失去了记忆。这令两人之间的猜疑有增无减。密室的空气越来越少，女子渐渐失去理智，她决定要把男子身上的小刀拔出并把钥匙取回，结果她成功了！两人朝相反的方向，步履蹒跚地离开房间后来男子发现自己是被绑架的目标人物。他更发现地上一具年轻女性尸体，他想起她是自己的女朋友，男子找回了大部门记忆，他直指女子是绑匪，女子真的是绑匪吗？。The TARDIS lands in London on Christmas Eve, 1851 and almost immediately the Doctor hears his name being called.
