孩子们长大后都离开了老家，只留下一对结婚了50年的老年夫妇。太太有喜子最近对丈夫非常不满，跟他说话都不回应，自己寂寞到只能跟家里养的猫咪说话。丈夫的冷漠让她不断的跟女儿菜穂子抱怨，直到有一天，有喜子终于鼓起了勇气对丈夫提出离婚……。An anthology series in which each episode is a self-contained story set in a different world, with all stories linked together by an asteroid called the Metal Hurlant, which is passing close to the planet that is the focus of the current episode.。
