On the first day, the Islanders ...。主要讲述乾隆皇帝与香妃的爱情故事，表现的是纪晓岚、弘历、和珅这几位中国野史上风云人物的青年岁月，这跟《铁齿铜牙》主要描写宫廷政治，表现中年之后的纪晓岚有很大的不同。该剧在情节设计和人物刻画上更注重戏剧性，注重娱乐效果，观众看起来会感轻松有趣。 由赵亮担纲的纪晓岚将“风流”与“纵横才气”有机地结合在一起，突破了以往的戏路；有中国最年轻“皇帝小生”之称的朱磊则将弘历这个重情重义的皇帝演绎得丝丝入扣，而初上荧屏的宋妍塑造的香妃也相当“入戏”。该剧还有一大“靓”点，即这部戏的女演员中有7位是选美出身，可以说个个如花似玉，有倾国倾城之靓貌。。
