天授二年，魏州发生了一起骇人听闻的事件。一当铺老板被害，百姓传言是冥神所为，甚至有人还亲眼见过冥神设宴。民间众说纷纭，皆指武后乱政导致天怒人怨。消息传回京城，武则天震怒，遂命令狄仁杰前往勘查此事。狄仁杰携龙景、柳月儿前往魏州，魏州刺史顾先令向狄仁杰等人陈述案情，并认为是冥神作祟，狄仁杰怒斥其昏庸。随后狄仁杰来到案发当铺询问。当铺老板娘告知狄仁杰，在当铺老板死前几日便得到了一张夜宴图，随后整日将自己关在家中琢磨。突然有一日便兴高采烈的带着夜宴图出门，却没想到死在了路上。。夏天伊始，布丽·奇特在芝加哥一个富裕郊区找到了一份工作，给六岁的弗朗西斯当保姆。但与此同时，她却放弃了自己做母亲的权利去做了手术。由于没有时间恢复，她一方面与弗朗西斯产生了许多冲突，另一方面又因与弗朗西斯母亲日益紧张的关系而焦头烂额。随着时间的推移，她们开始建立友情，并从中得到欢乐。。The story follows a young Indigenous game warden who arrests an infamous poacher only to discover that the poacher knows the location of a plane carrying millions of dollars that has crashed in a frozen lake.
