2016年，大年之际，72岁的农民赵本林仍然过着一个平凡中国人传统的新春佳节；沉浸在家人团聚、上坟祭祖、寻亲访友、迎接新年的幸福中；期间，他把四川人传统的春节习俗向儿孙辈代代相传，在寻亲访友的过程中他得知亲友钟延书身患重病，他和妻子钟秀珍都为钟延书的儿子钟武林和同村大龄青年陶二娃的婚事着急。这一切都集中反映了一个平凡中国农民的期盼——渴盼健康、渴望孝道、渴求团圆的情怀；也提醒着在外奋斗的儿女常回家看看就是对父母最好的孝敬。。It's the fall of 1985.
