一个剧团正面临困境，因为文艺复兴节（每年举行一次，主要重现16世纪意大利文艺复兴时期的情景）的主管威胁要请一群受过专业训练的莎剧演员来代替他们。为了维护荣誉，使剧团重获新生，成员们必须磨练演技，尝试改变表演方式。同时他们还需要两个年轻演员的协助，后者必须克服种种困难来证明自己的能力。而在此过程中，朝夕相处的两人也陷入了爱河。。Trevor is 'between jobs'.
